Today, dental implants are held as the highest standard when it comes to

 rehabilitating smiles with missing teeth.

Dr. Ada is a Fellow of Implant Pathway, providing cutting-edge care for our Acworth, GA patients with missing teeth.

At Hillside Family Dentistry, we oversee the entire dental implant process from start to completion.

No outside referrals are needed.

Many people are surprised to learn how comfortable it is to have implants installed.

Little to no downtime is needed for recovery. But to ensure your comfort at all times, nitrous oxide sedation is usually suggested, as with other routine dental work.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the only restorative treatment that’s modeled after the anatomy of a full, complete tooth. Each implant is essentially an artificial tooth root. When Dr. Ada places it into the bone next to your other teeth, your body naturally fuses with the implant surface.

This “osseointegration” process provides support to the implant, essentially giving it more strength than adjacent teeth.

Once your dental implant is fully integrated, Dr. Ada will place a restoration on top of it to fill in the visible, functional portion of your smile above the gum tissues.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants can enhance your smile as they are used to replace missing teeth. But they also offer so much more. Our Acworth dental implants can transform your quality of life from how you eat to the way you communicate. Your new implants will work the same way as your other natural teeth, allowing you to eat whatever you want, smile freely, and communicate confidently. Their integrity allows us to replace multiple teeth at a time.

Implants are the only restoration that’s designed to last for the rest of your life. Plus, they’re simple to care for. Just brush and floss them daily!

Additionally, the osseointegration process of dental implants delays bone loss in your jaws, which would otherwise lead to premature aging in your face.

Types of Dental Implants

Dental implants are biocompatible "roots" made of hypoallergenic titanium that are surgically placed into your jawbone, next to your natural teeth. They serve as a foundation for a fixed restoration to be placed on the top once installed. Among our most common implant restorations are:

Single Tooth Replacement with Implants

Our most common dental implant treatment is single tooth replacement. In these cases, Dr. Ada places an individual implant and then an abutment, followed by a zirconia or Emax crown. The entire restoration stands independently of other teeth. When you smile, no one should be able to tell a difference between your implant and the teeth next to it.

Snap-in Dentures (Implant Supported Overdentures)

An implant stabilized denture snaps on and off of 2-4 dental implants for added stability. Snap-in dentures are ideal for our patients who are missing all of their teeth or are struggling with a loose, uncomfortable denture that’s difficult to eat with due to a narrow bone ridge or bone loss.
