In pain? Our Acworth dentist offers same-day emergency exams or teledentistry consultations for our patients with toothaches and other dental emergencies.

Hillside Family Dentistry offers fast emergency dental care when you’re in pain and need immediate attention.

Whether you’re coming in for a toothache or need to schedule a teledentistry visit after hours, Dr. Ada is here to offer you the peace of mind your family needs.

Types of Emergencies We Treat

Some of the most common dental emergencies that we see in our Acworth family practice include situations involving:

  • Broken, chipped, or knocked-out teeth
  • Abscessed teeth
  • Toothaches
  • Broken dental work
  • Denture repairs
  • Swelling or bleeding

At-Home Pain Relief for Toothaches

After you call our office, we’ll walk you through what to do regarding your specific dental emergency. For temporary tooth pain relief, we recommend applying a cold compress to that side of your mouth for 20 minutes at a time. Rinsing with warm salt water will also help alleviate any inflammation. Dr. Ada recommends taking an over-the-counter pain reliever such as Motrin or ibuprofen as directed.

Keep in mind that toothaches and abscessed teeth won’t resolve themselves or bounce back with medication. We will still need to treat the source of your discomfort to prevent relapse.

Teledentistry Emergency Visits

Teledentistry dental exams allow Dr. Ada to evaluate your condition and provide real-time information related to your dental emergency. Teledentistry is extremely convenient because you can access us anytime, anywhere.

Your Comfort is Important to Us

During your treatment, we’ll take special steps to ensure that you’re as pain-free as possible. It may be that we need to prescribe medication leading up to the procedure, or that sedation be used alongside other numbing medications.

Is it Truly an Emergency?

How can you know whether or not you need to see an emergency dentist the same day? If you fit any of the following criteria, let us know:

  • You’re unable to eat or drink comfortably
  • You cannot go to work or school
  • Areas of swelling are getting worse
  • Visibly broken dental work
  • There is a sharp area cutting your mouth

Make sure not to chew on the side with any damaged teeth. If your tooth is knocked out, keep it moist and in a sealed container then bring it to our office right away.

Which Treatment Will I Need?

Our goal is to preserve your natural smile whenever possible. Dr. Ada will incorporate minimally invasive restorative techniques to preserve your teeth when we can, and offer a variety of options when those teeth need to be removed.

We utilize high-resolution imaging equipment to share our findings with you. Together, we’ll discuss the treatment choices available and how they relate to your situation, then plan the best restorative procedure to make your smile whole again.

As your family dentist in Acworth, GA, we offer everything from small white fillings to dental inlays and onlays to dental implants and gentle root canals.
